Questions about the installation

Question 1

Q - I downloaded StudioTax, but the installer is not working. What should I do?
A - Try to delete this installer and redownload StudioTax from our website. Then make sure to start the installer as admin: right click the installer and select the menu “Run As Administrator”.

Question 2

Q - Something wrong happened during the installation and now I’m not able to start StudioTax. I’m also not able uninstall StudioTax and reinstall it from scratch. What should I do?
A - Try to use the following Microsoft tool to force the cleanup. http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall (opens in a new tab) Once uninstalled, redownload StudioTax from our website: StudioTax - Canadian Personal Income Tax Software

Q - Every time I try to start StudioTax, I get the error message” StudioTax is already installed”. What I’m doing wrong?
A - Most likely you are trying to use the installer to open StudioTax. The installer should only be used once to install StudioTax. You can double check the installation folder: C:\Program Files\BHOK IT Consulting Inc\StudioTax 20XX and in this folder you will find ‘StudioTax.exe’. Also, it should be added to your desktop. Or you can simply find it using Windows search bar:

Question 4

Q - I’m trying to install StudioTax but I’m getting the error message "another installation is in progress. you must complete that installation before continuing this one". What should I do?
A - The installer service on your computer seems to have been interrupted in the middle of some installation. You will need to restart the service. Please follow these instruction to restart it:

  1. Type services.msc in the search box and hit [enter].
  2. Locate the following service: Windows Installer.
  3. Right-click the Windows Installer list item and then click Stop right-click again and then click Start.
